Marine Safety Training

MOB: Man OverBoard!

Imagine you are on a ship far off the coast during the midst of a storm. The wiggling ship can barely stay on the rocking waves. While you are dry and safe in your cabin, one of your crewmembers outside threatens to lose balance in a struggle to stay on board. You want this member as soon as possible, but going outside might throw you off the ship. What would you do?

Though this event is unlikely, it ís possible. Especially on the open seas. Luckily with the right training and instructions you can make greatly increase the chances of your crew staying on board and fare safe to any harbor.

Lead by former Dutch Special Forces instructor Rini, the Vertrouwen's crew has been through a lot. With combined knowledge of years working at the Royal Dutch Commando's and management of specialized offshore and maritime training companies, you know you (and/or your team) is in the hands of more than 30 years of experience in extreme circumstances.

Summarized, this day will take:

On this day you will learn:

  • Learn how to use and maintain marine safety equipment
  • About how to deal with (and secure) safety measures
  • About how weather conditions work, and how they can help you survive in dire situations
  • What to do if your ship threatens to capsize
  • How to use basic emergency kits

A full instructive day (8 hrs) that will both be extremely useful for people who work in, on or by water, people with marine interests as sailing or seafaring, and any professionals working in the nautic or (marine) biologic fields.

This training is available for teams with at minimum of 4 to a maximum of 12 participants. Want a tailor made training with? Please contact us for an estimate.

Good to know

  • You will get wet. Wear clothes that can dry easily.
  • Though there are no separate dressing rooms for man and women, the ship is large enough to divide spaces if desirable.
  • You don't need marine experience, though knowing how to swim is highly recommended.
  • Since we only sail out a short trip out of the harbor, it's fairly easy to to return by a motorized lifeboat in case of emergencies.
